November 8, 2018 In the Republic of Mauritius in Port Louis, the National Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve "Ulytau" represented by the director Kozhakhmetva B.S. As part of the Kazakh delegation, they presented to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage the rituals of Kazakh horse breeders, namely ancient elements of intangible culture such as “kymyz muryndyk” (using the first kumys), “biye baylau” (tying mares) and “aigyr kosu” (inclusion stallion in the herd). The close spiritual connection between a person and a horse is an integral element of the traditional culture and self-awareness of the Kazakh people. According to the results of studies of the Botai culture of the 4th millennium BC, it is the territory of Kazakhstan that is the place of the first domestication of the horse in history.
